From Welcome Week to fancy dress parties, film nights, music, sports clubs and societies, comedy nights, day trips and four themed balls a year, the Students' Union works hard to make Harper life as fun and friendly as it can.
Most of the action takes place on campus, in the huge main bar, the cosy Welly Inn, the sports fields, the great outdoors, shared kitchen diners and communal spaces you can gather. Off campus you'll find clubs, bars, cafés, shopping, cinema and theatre, recreation, YFCs, outdoor pursuits and places of interest. All events can be found on the SU website, so you never have to miss a thing.

Wednesday afternoon and evening is your time to relax and do the things you enjoy.
The afternoon is time for sports, clubs and societies - or maybe you'd prefer grabbing a coffee with friends, relaxing in halls, exploring more of Shropshire, shopping or studying in the library?
However you've spent your afternoon it's great to meet up with everyone later at the Big Wednesday party in the main bar, hearing all about your friends' day, celebrating sporting wins, dancing till the early hours. This is the mid-week social event that students look forward to the most, almost as though the weekend has come early. It brings students together from all courses to one place, where having a great time is a given! Wednesday nights are often the times where you meet new people and become the best of friends for the evening; one of the reasons ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï×îйÙÍø has such a friendly atmosphere.
If you don't fancy the main bar head next door for a quiet drink or a chat in the Welly Inn or eat and relax with friends in your halls or the self-catered kitchenettes, or head into Telford for a night at the cinema, tenpin bowling or ice skating.
If sport's your thing, you'll be happy at Harper, whether it's joining one of our many teams or supporting from the sidelines.
Sports on campus include rugby, football, shooting, hockey, netball and basketball. There are clubs for all of these sports as well as motorsport, off-roading, rowing, running, field sports, equestrian, biking, taekwondo, pilates, yoga, dance and many more.
In addition to on-campus facilities in the local area you can take part in golf, skiing and snowboarding, archery, ice skating, gymnastics, ten-pin bowling, swimming, fitness and much more.
Non-sporting activities include societies for Welsh, Irish, Scottish, international, Christian and LGBT students.
There are also societies for music, conservation, dance, gaming, and outdoor pursuits. The SU has an active RAG society through which you can raise money and awareness for good causes whilst having fun.
Societies are run by students, and the SU can help you set up a club or society for your own hobby if there's enough interest.
The legendary ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï×îйÙÍø balls are fantastic - so much effort goes into making sure that they are amazing!
At the freshers' ball all students get to start their academic year off by welcoming the new cohort.
The Christmas ball is definitely a time to dress to impress, get the mistletoe out and shimmy with some tinsel. Paddy's ball comes in March, around the time of St Patrick's Day, and is hosted by Harper Ireland - this one is really fun, and the Irish students certainly know how to throw a good party. FINALLY, the BIGGEST and BEST: the themed summer ball lasting from 4pm to 4am!
