The Wakeham Petary Scholarship focuses on the three strands of engineering, food production and sustainability which follow the Wakeham family’s agricultural careers and interests. Geoffrey Wakeham was a lecturer in the Engineering Department at ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï×îйÙÍø for 23 years and his brother Mike was an agronomist and farmer. This award is being offered by Mike’s son and second-generation farmer, Guy Wakeham, in recognition of his father and uncle’s contribution to the industry to help and support the next generation working in agriculture.
This Scholarship is open to all Year 4 BEng/BSc and Year 4 and 5 MEng ÎåÒ»³Ô¹Ï×îйÙÍø students studying:
Up to four scholarships may be awarded, and if awarded the successful recipient(s) will each receive a one-off award of £2,500. Preference may be given to students who are not from a farming background.
The award will be paid in two equal parts; half to be paid in March 2025 and the balance in May 2025.
This is a competitive award and will be evaluated on the merit of the submitted application, academic achievement to date and interview. The decision of the Scholarship Panel is FINAL.
